Courtney - President
Court - She/Her
Courtney is a second year student doing a Law LLB. Before starting her degree Courtney undertook four gap years travelling throughout Europe as an English teacher. During this time she lived in France for a year and worked in Hungary, Poland and Malta. Courtney's main areas of interest in law are human rights, public law and international law.
Courtney's favourite things to do include watching Peep Show and being a plant mum!
As president Courtney's role requires her to:
Lead the direction of the society,
Be the main point of contact for the society,
Ensure all members have correctly purchased their membership to give them access to all Law Society benefits and events,
Managing committee and members meetings to ensure all voices are heard
Take pictures of society events and entering the Law Society into society of the month competition.
Courtney is also the VP Social of the Amnesty International Society.
Shyann - VP Social
Shy - She/Her
Shyann is a third year LLB Law Student. Before beginning her degree Shyann did a gap year travelling through Asia, Australia and trekking the Sahara Desert. Shyann's favourite module so far has been Employment Law and the area she is most interested in is Human Rights.
Shyann's favourite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she could not live without coffee!
As VP Social Shyann's role requires her to:
Manage the social media and email accounts,
Ensuring all events are updated on our website and social media pages,
Communicate with all members about events, partnerships and merch,
Be available for any questions members may have for the society.
Shyann was previously the President of the Amnesty International Society in her second year.
Hannah - VP Finance
She/They
Hannah is a second year LLB Law student. Before starting her degree, Hannah had a gap year where she travelled to Japan, and intended to explore East Asia and Australasia, but Covid-19 affected these plans. Hannah is especially excited to support students with all aspects of their studies including their general well-being and LSPs. Hannah is particularly interested in family law, child protection and medical law.
Hannah loves to go down to the beach, especially with a book and watching the sunset.
As VP Finance Hannah's role includes:
Creating a budget for the society,
Generating income to ensure we can have great events (such as the Law Ball at one of Brighton's most popular hotels),
Seeking sponsorship and partnerships to get income/benefits for our members.
Hannah is currently the President of the Amnesty International Society.
